Meet Charmaine
Charmaine Carpenter - Owner & Trainer
Charmaine Carpenter grew up riding horses in Kwa-Zulu Natal,South Africa, and has been passionate about horses her whole life. From riding one of her twin palomino ponies around the rugged African landscape to working with horse and riders in various lesson programs, she has always had a real love of the horse/human relationship.
Charmaine has been teaching riding lessons since she was 16, and has over 20 years of experience developing riders for the show ring, and prior to that another twenty years of teaching children and adults to ride. Her close, personal relationship with each student is the hallmark of her teaching style. She has won numerous awards in the region from, South Carolina Hunter Jumper Association, Blue Ridge Hunter Jumper Association and Progressive Show Jumping Circuit.
Charmaine has written extensively for premier horse publications where her articles about horses and horsemanship were the featured article in monthly publications, including Hunter and Sport Horse, Dressage Today, The Chronichle of the Horse and Reiner Magazine. Charmaine was recognized by the sports governing body, The United States Equestrian Team, for her innovative and compelling article comparing dressage and reining.

Adrian Diaz and Charmaine have worked together for over fifteen years. Adrian is a highly skilled horseman who started his riding career in Mexico racing horses. His attention to the daily needs of the horses and his skill in areas of farm management make our farm run smoothly. Adrian cares about the horses and our barn family and it shows.From pasture management to horse care and everything in between, we are grateful to Adrian every day.
Charlie Thomas recently joined us and offers back up to Adrian as well as supporting Charmaine and her team at horse shows where his skills are invaluable.
Our Facilities
We have three all weather rings consisting of an Olympic size jumping arena with gravel dust footing, graded and maintained daily, a smaller creek sand ring, also manicured daily, and a state of the art wooden round pen, also with gravel dust footing. In addition, we have an outside course with a jump going in and out of the ring.

Our team ensures your horses care is of utmost importance at all times. We feed top quality grain and hay, customized to your horses needs. Our full time staff tends to our horses at the highest level.Our riders compete at Hunter Jumper Shows on the East Coast, from larger, impressive rated shows to local shows where we hone our skills.Our lesson program is designed to help riders at every level meet their goals, and provide the skills necessary to be competitive in any arena.Our small but dedicated group of riders receive year end championships from a variety of local Associations. Horse/rider relationships are carefully developed to ensure the best possible, and most successful partnership. Several top quality leases are available on site at very competitive prices.Need a new partner? Charmaine is well known for her ability to select the perfect horse and rider team.
Winding throughout our acres is a system of trails that provide opportunities for peaceful enjoyable trail rides while at the same time keeping our horses fit. We are really very fortunate to have hours of trails to enjoy fitness training and take a breather from the ring.
